SYNOPSIS
Andrea, 21, works with her father, an antiques dealer often embroiled in shady dealings. A meeting with Tony, his former trainer, prompts Andrea to believe he can become again the winning jockey he was before he left racing. Unfortunately, the only horse Tony is willing to give him is Laghat, an exceptional thoroughbred but with a severe eye impairment. A sporting and human challenge begins for Andrea that will mature him as a man…

A film produced by Alba Produzione, in association with Videa Group and in co-production with AD Productions.
The film was produced with the support of the Tuscany Regional ERDF Program 2021–2027 – Action 1.3.5 “Support for Cultural Enterprises, ” thanks to co-financing fromthe European Union and the Region of Tuscany.
Filming took place within the municipality of Pisa, specifically atthe San Rossore Racetrack, located within the Migliarino, San Rossore, and Massaciuccoli Natural Park, thereby contributing to the promotion of Tuscany’s landscape, environmental, and cultural heritage.
The project aims to promote the region of Tuscany through the medium of film, highlighting its outstanding locations and the professionals involved in the audiovisual industry. The support received has contributed to the creation of the film and to the promotion of Tuscany’s cultural and regional heritage.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
“Laghat is a reflection on the difficulty of finding one’s way, of living one’s passion when there are obstacles that seem insurmountable. Beginning with one’s own limitations, those of a talented but problematic jockey forced to earn the trust of a very particular thoroughbred in order to fulfill his dreams of glory. In addition to the training story, however, I was also interested in telling the story of horse racing, in a realistic way, with its protagonists, its rituals, the risks of the profession and the beauty of contact with horses. In short, to propose that the viewer immerse himself in a world apart.”
