ABOUT US
Videa is a historic name in the world of film production and distribution.
Its history began in the 1980s when it took over a studio complex to the north of Rome originally built by Franco Cristaldi – a site which continues to be Videa's headquarters. Over the years, many of the world's greatest directors – names like Federico Fellini, Giuseppe Tornatore and Vittorio De Sica – have shot at Videa, and hundreds of films and television productions have been made here. At the same time, the Videa library has grown steadily and now contains over 1,000 films and documentaries, including such legendary titles as Dario Argento's Suspiria. Videa also has a long history of distributing high quality foreign films. Among its greatest successes are The Hurt Locker (winner of six Academy Awards), The Butler, The Imitation Game (winner of one Academy Award), Macbeth, The Founder, Pan's Labyrinth (winner of three Academy Awards) and Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria.
